I’m Back to Blogging!

Can you all believe there are less than four months left in 2018?! It’s been a year since I pressed the pause button on my blog last September. At that time I didn’t know when, or if, I would ever come back to blogging. I had started two new businesses, and was super busy getting them off the ground. One of them failed unfortunately, but the other one has done fairly well and I am very thankful for that.

But, my original love of blogging was never far from my thoughts and I missed it. So when I recently received an email from an old blogging friend, that she was going to have her yearly Choctoberfest event, and asked if I'd like to participate again, I realized just HOW MUCH I had missed blogging, and jumped at the chance to start again!

When I first started blogging, my purpose was to use my little blog as a place to save my family's favorite recipes, and where my children could find them easily when THEY wanted to make those recipes for their families.

However, I began to notice what other bloggers were doing, and I felt like I needed to do the same thing. I experimented with sponsored content, reviewed products, and accepted freebies in exchange for reviews and giveaways. It was fun at first, but then I began to feel pressured to post more often than I wanted to, and while I meant every word I said in those reviews and giveaways, I wondered if my followers really cared what I had to say about those products. And then I began to feel burned out and wondered, "Why am I even blogging? I discovered that I have no interest in making money from blogging itself.

So from here on out, while I may occasionally post about a fun event such as Choctoberfest, my main focus will once again be to save my family's tried and true recipes for future generations, as well as new recipes that we fall in love with. I hope you'll join me and find some family favorites of your own!

    1. Thank you Allison, :) I've been having a lot of fun testing new recipes to share on my blog, and my husband is enjoying being my official taste-tester again! haha :)

I'm a Norwex Independent Sales Consultant now and LOVE it! Not only do the products really work, but they have cut my cleaning time in half, and I'm doing my part in helping the environment. I have always been pretty shy, so it took a little time to get used to sharing Norwex with people. But the products are amazing and sell themselves, so that part is easy.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog and leave a comment. I love reading what you thought about the post, if you made one of the recipes, or suggestions on what you would like to see in the future.
