Last week I told you about a fun and tasty event I would be participating in, and today I get to share the yummy recipe I made for #GuacSquad12! Camilla from Culinary Adventures with Camilla, gathered together a dozen bloggers, to show just how versatile one of our favorite snack foods, guacamole, is. So far we've had delicious versions such as Mole Guac with Plantain Chips, Roasted Peach Guacamole with Homemade Crackers, and Italian Guacamole with Herb Tortilla Chips.

Today it's my turn, and I'm sharing two of my favorite snack-time indulgences, guac and margaritas. I combined them to make one tasty Margarita Guacamole, served with homemade Lime Tortilla Chips!

We timed our celebration of all things Guacamole to coincide with the release of the Guac-Lock™ by Casabella, a neat little device that keeps your guac from turning brown. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had some leftover guacamole, and was sadly disappointed when they went to eat those leftovers, and was met with a glob of unappetizing brown goo. Well you don't have to worry about that with this helpful gadget. Just look at it in action!

The Guacamole: Ya'll, this guac is the bomb! It takes plain ole guacamole, and turns it into something over-the-top good. If you like margaritas, you're going to love this guacamole. The citrus notes of a margarita, pair beautifully with fresh guacamole. And when you dip it up with some warm, salty homemade lime tortilla chips, we are talking one big fiesta going on in your mouth.

The Chips: These chips are better than any store-bought chip out there. They are seriously easy, super crunchy, and so much healthier than fried tortilla chips. They're perfect for dipping up this delicious guac, or any other dip or salsa your heart desires.

This yummy guacamole was made possible not only by Casabella, but by Gourmet Garden Herbs & Spices, and Melissa's Produce as well! Their products are top quality, and I highly recommend them.

Lime Tortilla Chips

12 extra-thin corn tortillas (I used Mission brand)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon lime juice (about 1/2 lime)
Kosher salt

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil and lime juice.
Brush each side of the tortilla with some of the lime juice mixture, making sure to completely cover the tortillas.
Stack tortillas and cut into 8 equal triangles. Place tortilla slices on a large, lightly greased baking sheet, making sure they aren't overlapping.
Sprinkle tortilla triangles with desired amount of salt and bake for 8-10 minutes, rotating pan halfway through baking time. (Chips should be lightly browned on the bottom)
Remove from oven, flip tortilla chips over and let sit 5 minutes. They will crisp up as they cool on the pan.
Serve with guacamole, or your favorite salsa.
Leftovers can be stored in a Ziploc baggie.

Cooks note: Make sure the corn tortillas you use are labeled extra thin. If not, the tortilla chips won't turn out as crispy, and chewy tortilla chips are no bueno. :(
