Graham Cracker Pie Crust

Making your own Graham Cracker Pie Crust is super easy, and taste so much better then the pre-made kind you buy in the store.

Home Sweet Homestead: Graham Cracker Pie Crust

Making your own sweet, buttery graham cracker pie crust couldn't be easier. They are far superior to the pre-made ones you buy in the store, which are stale and lack any flavor in my opinion. But a homemade one is amazing and taste 1000 times better. And the best part? It only takes three ingredients to make it!

When I made a homemade graham cracker pie crust for the first time, for my families favorite Peanut Butter Pie, I didn't tell them it was homemade. As soon as they took their first bite, they exclaimed, "What did you do?" This taste lots better then your last pie!" Uh thanks... I think? It's a difference you can taste, and so worth the few steps needed to make it.

Graham Cracker Pie Crust

1 1/2 cups crushed graham crackers (about 10 full sheets of graham crackers)
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, (6 tablespoons) melted

To Crush Graham Crackers
*Place graham crackers in a ziplock plastic baggie and crush with a rolling pin, or my favorite, put the graham crackers in a food processor and pulse until they have turned into fine crumbs.

In a medium-sized bowl stir together the graham cracker crumbs and sugar.
Pour in melted butter and stir to blend well. (mixture will be course and sandy looking)
Press mixture into the bottom and up the sides of an ungreased 9-inch pie plate. (Pack it in tight)
Bake at 375 degrees for 5-7 minutes or until crust is lightly browned.
Cool completely on a wire rack before filling.

Note: *For a chocolate version, use chocolate graham crackers.
