Ham and Cheese Sliders

Oh My Goodness... These little sandwiches are the bomb! Wait, do people even still say that? Well I sure do, especially when it comes to these Ham and Cheese Sliders. My family and I couldn't rave about them enough.

Home Sweet Homestead: Ham and Cheese Sliders

You may wonder, "Why would I need a recipe for a ham and cheese sandwich"? I'm glad you asked, because the magic to these is in the delicious sauce they are baked in. It takes these beauties to a whole different level of flavor. Even my picky daughter, who claims she doesn't like ham, LOVED these sandwiches. They would be perfect to serve to a crowd. These cheesy, toasty sliders are sure to be a hit. Be forewarned, there's nothing low-cal about these babies, but they are so worth the splurge.

Home Sweet Homestead: Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders

Ham and Cheese Sliders

For the Sandwiches

24 white dinner rolls
24 pieces honey ham
24 small slices Swiss cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise

Mustard Sauce:

1 1/2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon minced onion
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Open up the buns and spread mayonnaise on the inside of each roll.
Layer a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss inside each roll. Close rolls and place them into a 13x9 inch baking dish, placing them very close together.
In a medium bowl whisk together all of the mustard sauce ingredients, and pour sauce evenly over the sandwiches.
Let sit for 10 minutes, then cover with aluminum foil and bake for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Uncover and bake for an additional 2 minutes, or until tops are lightly browned.
Serve warm.

Cooks Note: Sandwiches can be assembled a day ahead and kept in the fridge until ready to bake.
